Meet the Artist

My world has always been different and possibly more interesting than that of others I know or have known. Perhaps this results from the perspective from which I view objects. For as long as I can remember, my perspective has always been through a camera lens. As can be discerned from some of the prose that accompanies many of my images, that lens often contains distortions resulting from a warped sense of humor. The imagination can fly when you view the world from the point of view of what one 'sees' not what one 'knows'. This additional dimension has made photography exciting and revealing to me. As an example, did you see the flying pig in the picture of the orchid on the home page?

The digital camera has rekindled my long interest in photography. Earlier years generated drawers full of color slides and black and white prints (when a darkroom was available). Some of these pictures will, undoubtedly, make it to this site for your viewing pleasure. Being more chronologically gifted than most of you, I now have the luxury of time to change a hobby into something more. I welcome the opportunity and challenges of introducing you to my world.

I would be remiss were I not to thank the many family, friends, neighbors, strangers, nurseries and grocery stores where I have photographed the flowers that resulted from their hard work. Mother Nature deserves special thanks for populating and coloring all that enters my field of vision.
