Ignored Flowers
Each spring we witness the golden dusting of Western Washington streets, cars and all else who spend time outside the confines of our modern caves. Tree pollen attracts the attention of those careful enough to wonder what the golden dusting might be and those of us who've developed allergies to these natural proteins. Take time to visit your local fir trees and gaze upon their ignored flowers. For us folks who have the allergies, I strongly recommend a heavy dose of antihistamines before venturing out. Take your kids with you if they have ever asked, 'Where do pine cones come from?'
