Such Tiny Flowers

Mother Nature's creativity never ceases to amaze this old fellow. Queen Anne's Lace (Daucus carota) is an introduced weed, a member of the carrot family and very beautiful. Many of the images I've shared with you lack perspective, i.e., you often have no way to discern the actual size of the flower(s). While on the Oregon Coast I visited this beauty and placed a dime with the flower so one can appreciate the size and delicacy of the flowers. This 'weed' can be found throughout the Northwest this time of year. Don't ignore it, take a close look and enjoy. Also, folks suggest that you don't plant it in your yard as it is extremely prolific and the seeds can remain dormant for years. Once you have it in your garden, it has you for years.
